I have to say that by the time I got to around hour 18 or 19, I'd had enough, and I finished the game fairly quickly thereafter. I agree with everything Yahtzee says in his Zero Punctuation video - it's emotionally engaging, heart warming, heart breaking, yes the animations start to grate a bit quite early on despite being wonderful, and the ending is a bit meh, because of the way it lets you go all completionist.
